Overview
Hasta ahora sólo se conocía un libro puramente autobiográfico de Villalonga: Les falses memòries de Salvador Orlan (1967, traducción española en Mondadori, 1988). Este Diario de guerra permanecía inédito hasta hoy y trata del período 1937-1939, una de las épocas más discutidas en la vida del novelista. José Carlos Llop, que ha publicado, entre diversos trabajos sobre el novelista, un ensayo sobre el Villalonga de entreguerras y fue quien tradujo sus Memorias al castellano, ha prologado y anotado este inédito villalonguiano.
